DraftKings is ramping up NFL DFS and will have six Madden simulations on Tuesday instead of the usual three. The first game of this larger lineup will between the Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the contest, which you can play at DraftKings.
Captain’s Picks
Jameis Winston, QB, Buccaneers ($15,600)
Winston has been one of the more dominant quarterbacks through the simulations we’ve seen so far and has one of the best wide receiver duos in the game at his disposal. The Buccaneers’ running backs haven’t been very productive, and their offense is dependent on the pass. He has the highest ceiling in the contest.
Chris Godwin, WR, Buccaneers ($12,600)
Mike Evans ($15,000) and Godwin have similar ceilings, but Godwin should benefit from not being covered by Byron Jones. His catching (97) ranks ranks among the best in the game at his position. Look for him to make the most of his opportunities while he’s defended by Dallas’ lesser defensive backs.
Flex Men
Dak Prescott, QB, Cowboys ($10,600)
Prescott has also has a strong receiving corps. Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, and Randall Cobb are strong options, but so is Ezekiel Elliott out of the backfield. Prescott is also more of a runner than Winston, so he can contribute on the ground as well.
Jason Witten, TE, Cowboys ($5,600)
Witten’s 79 overall rating is just above Cobb’s 78. But he’s also not quite as pricey. He has the second best catching on the team. That means he has a better chance to haul in the balls thrown his way than most of Dallas’ other pass catchers.
