Saturday’s three-game slate of Madden simulations will feature the New York Jets, Denver Broncos, Carolina Panthers, New York Giants, Seattle Seahawks, and Minnesota Vikings. There will be a classic contest available for the contests, and we break down some ideal DFS strategies below. You can select your lineup at DraftKings.
Quarterback
Russell Wilson ($8,000) vs. Vikings
Wilson is the second highest rated (97) quarterback in the game. He has the best deep throw accuracy among signal callers and also has the mobility to make plays with his legs. Players of Wilson’s stature are worth spending the big bucks on — especially at the quarterback position.
Other options: Cam Newton ($6,300) vs. Giants
Running back
Christian McCaffrey ($7,800) vs. Giants
McCaffrey is the highest rated running back (99) in the game. He leads all players in DKFP per game (18.0) in the slate. His speed catching makes him a threat on the ground and through the air. He’s averaging 77 rushing yards for game and is also bound to get some PPR points as well.
Le’Veon Bell ($6,400) vs. Broncos
Bell has the kind of versatility to excel on the ground and through the air, like McCaffrey. The Jets will play the Broncos in the snow, so environmental factors could limit the abilities of their receivers. Denver has one of the worst receiving corps in the NFL, so it could be forced to use Bell more than usual.
Other option: Saquon Barkley ($6,500) vs. Panthers
Wide receiver
DK Metcalf ($4,300) vs. Vikings
Metcalf is a dangerous deep threat with 95 speed and solid catching in traffic (86). Wilson is elite when it comes to throwing the long ball. This price for a starting wideout is hard to beat.
Adam Thielen ($5,800) vs. Seahawks
Thielen has been more productive than Stefon Diggs ($7,600), who is the most expensive wideout in the slate. There’s a slim margin between their overall ratings. Why not save a lot of money but get a player with similar value?
Other option: Courtland Sutton ($6,200) vs. Jets
Tight End
Ryan Griffin ($3,600) vs. Broncos
Griffin has dipped below double-digits in DKFPs in a sim yet. His 14.0 DKFP per game leads all tight ends. He’s the second least expensive starter, so this is great value given how effective he has been.
Other option: Evan Engram ($5,600) vs. Panthers
Defense/Special Teams
Panthers D/ST ($3,300) vs. Giants
The Panthers have a solid defensive line, the best linebacker in the game in Luke Kuechly. Their secondary is led by Donte Jackson and James Bradberry. Carolina has a good group to contain Daniel Jones, who has an overall rating of 70.
Other option: Broncos ($3,300) vs. Jets
