The Carolina Panthers and New York Giants will face off in Saturday’s second Madden simulation at 5 p.m. ET. DraftKings will have a Showdown contests available for the matchup. We break down the ideal lineup strategy below. You can join in here.

Captain’s Picks

Christian McCaffrey, RB, Panthers ($15,600)

McCaffrey is the highest rated running back in the game. He has dangerous speed (92) and the best catching (82) at his position. He’s too versatile to not consider captaining. Plus he’s somehow cheaper than Cam Newton ($15,900) while leading the contest in DKFP per game (18.0)

Saquon Barkley, RB, Giants ($12,700)

Barkley is this sim’s other dynamic running back. He ranks second in DKFP per contest (12.7) and has a skill set that’s similar to what McCaffrey’s. Getting McCaffrey-like skills for a cheaper price is ideal. But Barkley’s ceiling is lower because of New York’s more talented receiving corps.

Flex Men

Cam Newton, QB, Panthers ($10,600)

Newton is the most expensive player available, but also has a lot to offer. He can rack up easy yardage by using McCaffrey as an escape outlet, has the throwing power (93) to stretch the field, and is strong and mobile enough to score fantasy points on the ground. You can’t think of Newton as the injured player he was in 2019. He’s got a clean bill of health in this sim and can be a lethal dual-threat quarterback.

Evan Engram, TE, Giants ($8,000)

Engram is one of the most explosive tight ends in the game. He has the highest speed rating (90) at his position, which makes him a threat to break off big plays via yards after catch.
