The Chicago Bears and Atlanta Falcons will face off in Friday’s first Madden sim at 1:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest. You can set your lineup and play at DraftKings.
Captain’s Picks
Tarik Cohen, RB, Bears ($4,200)
Cohen hasn’t dipped below 10 DKFP once in three sims and has the third highest fantasy point average (16.4) per contest. He has been far more productive than David Montgomery and has rushed for two scores while also hauling in two touchdown passes. Cohen can do it all and is cheap.
Mitchell Trubisky, QB, Bears ($14,400)
Trubisky has higher upside than higher priced options like Julio Jones and Allen Robinson. He also averages the most DKFP per sim (16.9) in this contest. Trubisky is averaging nearly 190 passing yards and over 43 rushing yards per game. His dual-threat capabilities could make him the ideal candidate here.
Flex Men
Calvin Ridley, WR, Falcons ($6,400)
Jones is the best receiver in the contest, but his price isn’t indicative of his level of production so far. Ridley has comparable speed, acceleration, and agility. That doesn’t mean you can’t play both, but you could very well get more out of Ridley than Jones.
Austin Hooper, WR, Falcons ($9,000)
Hooper is one of the best tight ends in the game and has the second best catching (97) at his position. His catching is even better than Jones’. If you captain Cohen, you could use Jones, Ridley, and Hooper as flex plays to mix with cheaper options.
