Odell Beckham Jr. didn’t have as big of a year as most expected in 2019. The wideout caught 74 passes for 1,035 yards and four scores in his first season with the Cleveland Browns. His receiving yard total was the lowest mark of his career since 2017, when he missed 12 games because of a pair ankle injuries.
Beckham’s over/under for total receiving yards in 2020 is 1,050.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook. We think he’ll hit that mark despite his team’s offseason moves.
Prediction: Over 1,050.5
Cleveland added another talented pass catcher in Austin Hooper to its offense this offseason. That means Beckham will have to compete with him and Jarvis Landry, as well as Kareem Hunt, who ranked third on the team in receptions (37) despite only playing in eight games.
However, the Browns also upgraded their offensive line by adding Jack Conklin and could add another offensive lineman in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Baker Mayfield struggled in 2019, but improved pass blocking should help him make better use of his star-studded receiving corp. Beckham was only a catch or two away from reaching 1,050 receiving yards in a down year, so it’s reasonable to think he can perform at the same level or better moving forward.
