Why Marlon Mack should go over his rushing yards total in 2020

Marlon Mack is on track to tally a second straight 1,000-yard season in 2020.

Marlon Mack recorded his first 1,000 yard season in 2019 and could be in for an even better year in 2020. The fourth-year running back tallied 1,091 yards with the Indianapolis Colts.

The Colts added Philip Rivers to their quarterback room this offseason. Will that affect Mack’s numbers in a negative way? We don’t think so. We like him to hit his 1000.5 over/under for total rushing yards that DraftKings Sportsbook set for the 2020 season.

Prediction: Over 1000.5

Mack split the workload in Indianapolis with a few other backs last season, but had nearly 200 more carries than his backup. It’s safe to say that volume won’t be a problem for him. He’s got a two-time All-Pro in Quenton Nelson at left guard on the front lines and should also benefit from the arrival of a new blocker who’s joining the team.

Mack posted last year’s numbers without a fullback paving the way for him. But now the Colts have brought aboard Roosevelt Nix, who made the Pro Bowl in 2017 and spent five seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers before being released in March. Nix told The Indianapolis Star this week that he wants to add “more yards to Mack’s season.” We think he’s the right man for the job.
