The Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns will kick off the week Monday with a Madden sim game set to begin at 1:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest. You can set your lineup and play at DraftKings.
Captain’s Picks
Jarvis Landry, WR, Browns ($12,000)
Baker Mayfield and Odell Beckham Jr. will likely be the most popular captain’s pick because of the Dolphins’ secondary, but neither one is clearly better than the other. Because of this, I’d opt for Landry with a cheaper play. His ceiling is just as high as Beckham’s, and you get a lot more flexibility with your lineup elsewhere with him as a captain.
Kareem Hunt, RB, Browns ($4,200)
Hunt’s 88 rating is only second to Nick Chubb’s 92 and Beckham Jr.’s 90 on the offensive end. Although Hunt is the backup, he’s just as much of a threat to score as Chubb. He can get those PPR points because of his pass catching skills. This is a riskier pick, but quality RB2s have been valuable in Madden sims. Hunt is arguably the best RB2 in the game, so he’s worth taking a flier on.
Flex Men
DeVante Parker, WR, Dolphins ($9,200)
Parker’s overall rating (84) is higher than any other player on the Dolphins. He is the Miami player with the best chance to take over against the Browns. Cleveland can’t do everything on offense.
Browns Defense/Special Teams ($5,600)
Miami has a subpar offensive line and its starting running back has a 70 overall. The Browns have an elite defensive lineman in Myles Garrett and quality players at linebacker and in the secondary. The Dolphins have limited options on offense, so Cleveland has a good chance to keep them out of the end zone.
