UPDATE: March 10, 6:35 p.m. — Doncic is expected to play vs. San Antonio, per coach Rick Carlisle. Dorian Finney-Smith is also in that group, so the Mavs are looking relatively healthy Tuesday night vs. the Spurs.
Rick Carlisle says he expects both Luka Doncic and Dorian Finney-Smith to play tonight against the Spurs.

The Spurs get LaMarcus Aldridge back and Doncic is playing. The Mavericks are a good road team and have Doncic and Porzingis, so I give them the edge on the spread at 3.0 points. San Antonio is sneaky though with plus points and LMA in there. If LaMarcus was back a game, what would this spread be? Spurs favored at home? Maybe.
Doncic is $11,100 and has GPP appeal given the injury will suppress ownership a bit. It’s a wrist, thumb and an illness over the past few weeks for Doncic, not to mention his ankle has been sprained twice. But he’s also Luka Doncic, so fire away in tournaments. I still like Porzingis ($9,300) and Maxi Kleber ($4,800). LMA is a boost, but the Spurs are still thin behind him and Trey Lyles.
Dallas Mavericks G/F Luka Doncic is listed as questionable to play in Tuesday’s game vs. the San Antonio Spurs due to a wrist injury. Doncic has been dealing with both an illness and a thumb injury recently, so the fact it’s a different ailment for Tuesday is a bit concerning. We’ll see if Luka is held out as a precaution, though this is a pretty important game for the playoff picture in the West.
If Doncic is going to miss Tuesday’s game, it’s worth noting the Spurs are pretty shorthanded right now too. The Mavs have already ruled out Willie Cauley-Stein, Seth Curry and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist for Tuesday and Dorian Finney-Smith is questionable to play. There’s some sort of vendetta against players with three-part names.
Anyway, if Doncic is ruled out, this is a good spot for Kristaps Porzingis and Tim Hardaway Jr. Both will need to pick up the scoring slack for Doncic. We’ve seen Porzingis post some pretty impressive lines with Doncic off the court and the Spurs’ front court is depleted right now. Also a nice plus for Maxi Kleber, Courtney Lee and Delon Wright.
