Italy is locking down the entire country in an effort to control the spread of COVID-19, and it is impacting the premier soccer league in the country. Serie A has suspended play for the time being, according to Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano.
There is no word yet on when play will resume. The schedule runs through May 24th, but the decision to suspend play could either result in an abbreviated schedule or extending out the season. The country-wide lockdown is in place until April 3rd, but the situations surrounding the coronavirus is fluid and could result in further changes.
Juventus currently holds a one-point lead over Lazio, and is a -225 favorite to win the league at DraftKings Sportsbook. Lazio is +275, followed by Internazionale at +700. It is a three-team race at this point, but we’ll see if it gets called before the season has a chance to be completed.
