For the second straight season, the Belmont Bruins are heading to the NCAA Tournament thanks to a dramatic 76-75 win over the Murray State Racers in the Ohio Valley Conference championship.
With 9.5 seconds left and the ball at the timeline, Bruins head coach Casey Alexander called this set, which was a thing of beauty. Shoutout Pete Carril and the Princeton Offense, you deserve an assist here.

The Bruins lost to Murray State in the OVC final last year, but Belmont made the 2019 NCAA field as an at-large. They missed a last second shot against Maryland to advance, and will be looking to play on the weekend in 2020 behind OVC Tournament MVP Nick Muszynski. Muszynski was brilliant all night, scoring 25 points in just 25 minutes on 10/15 shooting.
The Bruins were -155 to take the crown, and are now the champs. We’ll find out where they land on Selection Sunday, but they for sure won’t be in Dayton with their NET rating of 101.
