A big loss for the No. 6 Kentucky Wildcats ahead of their game with the Florida Gators today, as star guard Ashton Hagans did not make the trip with the ‘Cats to Gainesville according to head coach John Calipari:
Ashton did not make the trip with us to Florida. He and I met a couple days ago and he asked to step away for a couple days for personal reasons. I support his decision. We are going to need him at 100% for the postseason.

It’s a big loss for Big Blue Nation, as the sophomore star guard was averaging 11.5 points and 6.4 assists per game. Today is UK’s last game until the SEC Tournament, so this shouldn’t have too much of an effect on their NCAA Tournament status. A loss at a good UF team wouldn’t hurt too much, but a quick flameout in Nashville at the SEC Championship just might.
As of now, Kentucky is a 2.5 point underdog at DraftKings Sportsbook against the Gators today. We’ll keep an eye on this story or for any line movement that might happen because of it.
