The Houston Roughnecks are 4-0 and will face the 1-3 Seattle Dragons on Saturday. We broke down some ideal Showdown lineup strategies for DraftKings DFS contests centered around this matchup.
Captain Obvious
P.J. Walker, QB, Roughnecks ($18,300)
Walker leads the league in passing yards (987) and passing touchdowns (12). His passer rating (104.5) places him alongside the best in the league. He can use his legs as well and will face the worst rated defense in this weekend’s slate. He’s thrown as least two touchdown passes in every game he’s played in this year and hasn’t dropped below 21 DKFP. He finds the open man consistently and shouldn’t have a problem connecting with any of his receivers.
Captain Courageous
Cam Phillips, WR, Roughnecks ($17,700)
Phillips has been the most dynamic offensive weapon in the XFL so far, but was shut down in his last outing. The Dallas Renegades keyed in on the wideout — who leads the XFL with 333 receiving yards — in Week 4 and held him to one reception for three yards. However, it’s unlikely that he’ll be a dud for a second straight week. This will be the first game Phillips will play without dealing with an ankle injury in a while. He should be able to put up more respectable numbers in Week 5.
Flex
Houston Roughnecks, Defense/Special teams, ($5,600)
Seattle’s offense is in shambles, as Brandon Silvers was benched after a pitiful first half against the St. Louis BattleHawks in Week 4. It’s unclear whether Silvers or B.J. Daniels — who led an impressive comeback in the second half of last week’s game — will start. Houston has generated a ton of turnovers, so this seems like a smart move.
Kenneth Farrow, RB, Roughnecks ($5,800)
Farrow has 126 rushing yards on the season and has scored a touchdown in back-to-back weeks. He’s an asset on the ground and in the air for a Dragons team dealing with uncertainty regarding the starting quarterback situation. He sits atop the depth chart and appears to be the most versatile option in Seattle’s backfield.
