Top XFL DraftKings plays for Saturday Week 5

What XFL players are the best bets for your DFS lineups for Saturday in Week 5?

Saturday’s XFL slate on DraftKings brings us two games with the biggest point spreads. In the early game, Seattle heads to Houston as -12.5 point underdogs while New York travels to Dallas as -7.5 point underdogs.

Quarterback

P.J. Walker, Houston Roughnecks ($12,000)

Walker is the only quarterback I would use in cash games for the Saturday slate. His consistency and upside are so far ahead of the other quarterbacks that they only can have value in GPPs with the hope that they’ll play above their ability. Walker also gets a strong matchup, as the Dragons have allowed the third-most passing yards, second-highest yards per attempt, highest completion rate and the second-highest QB Rating.

B.J. Daniels, Seattle Dragons ($7,200)

Daniels is risky, but if we get word that he’s starting, he makes for a high upside play at his price due to his rushing ability and the Roughnecks ability to raise the overall scoring. Daniels’ ability as a scrambler should keep his floor relatively high,

Running Backs

James Butler, Houston Roughnecks ($6,700)

Butler doesn’t get enough touches to feel super confident about him, but he is also the clear lead back, averaging 10 touches per game with 12 as his high and nine as his low. It would be nice if those numbers were higher of course, but Butler has been able to put up decent stats, as his team has the best offense in the league so far and is often in the opponent’s territory.

Darius Victor, NY Guardians ($5,800)

Victor saw 18 carries last week as he took over the lead back role. He’s seen enough targets to show that he does get usage in the passing game and I expect this game to be low scoring, allowing Victor plenty of chances to touch the ball.

Lance Dunbar, Dallas Renegades ($7,600)

Dunbar caught all six of his targets from Nelson in Week 1 and has seen a small boost in rushing attempts of late. He will continue to split work with Cameron Artis Payne, but I expect Nelson to give Dunbar plenty of reception chances, as he hasn’t shown the ability to throw deep.

Wide Receivers

Nick Holley, Houston Roughnecks ($7,100)
Sam Mobley, Houston Roughnecks ($3,800)
Blake Jackson, Houston Roughnecks ($3,100)

Cam Phillips is of course a strong play this weekend, but with the Roughnecks playing without Sammie Coates and Kahil Lewis dealing with a groin injury, there could be some nice value at receiver out of Houston this Saturday. And on a two game slate with P.J. Walker as the best quarterback going by far, running with multiple Roughnecks receivers isn’t a bad idea.

Mekale McKay, NY Guardians ($6,800)

McKay is the best receiver for the Guardians and with Luis Perez last week he managed a touchdown while also dropping a deep pass that could have gone for six. Perez should get the start this week over Matt McGloin and as 7-point underdogs, they will likely need to throw the ball late in the game.

Keenan Reynolds, Seattle Dragons ($6,500)

Reynolds is a top receiver when it comes to air yards, as he’s seen nine targets over 20-yards downfield. He should also be given ample opportunity in a game where the Dragons will need to throw the ball to try to keep pace with the Roughnecks top offense.

Defense/Special Teams

Houston Roughnecks ($4,900) vs. Seattle Dragons

If I’m using the Roughnecks D/ST, I’d rather Brandon Silvers start, but even if B.J. Daniels gets the nod, I expect there to be plenty of turnovers, as the Roughnecks lead the league in sacks and interceptions and have a fumble recovery for a score.

NY Guardians ($3,200) at Dallas Renegades

The Guardians don’t have a great defense, but they are able to get pressure on the quarterback and this week Dallas will start their backup Philip Nelson. Nelson had trouble moving the ball in Week 1 and threw an interception to go along with no touchdowns.
