Timberwolves-Pelicans combine for 273 points to smash over

New Orleans and Minnesota put on a show Tuesday night by going way over the point total on DraftKings Sportsbook. Let’s take a look at the recap.

New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson talks to Minnesota Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley in the second half at the Smoothie King Center. Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

I’ll be honest, when I took a look at the over/under for New Orleans Pelicans vs. Minnesota Timberwolves on DraftKings Sportsbook this afternoon, I was a little shocked. The O/U was hovering around 250 points and that seemed absolutely absurd to me. As is tradition, I was completely wrong in thinking these two teams couldn’t put on an offensive display. The T-Wolves pulled off the upset and won 139-134 in New Orleans, clearing the O/U by a wide margin

Let’s take a look at some of the fantasy basketball stats to see how it was done.

New Orleans Pelicans

Jrue Holiday — 27 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists — 61.5 DKFP
Lonzo Ball — 26 points, five rebounds, eight assists — 52.75 DKFP
Zion Williamson — 25 points, eight rebounds, three assists, four steals — 49 DKFP
Brandon Ingram — 24 points, three rebounds, four assists — 37.75 DKFP

Minnesota Timberwolves

Naz Reid — 13 points, 14 rebounds, three assists — 46.5 DKFP
D’Angelo Russell — 23 points, eight assists — 39.75 DKFP
Malik Beasley — 28 points, three rebounds, four assists — 39.25 DKFP
James Johnson — 19 points, six rebounds, five assists — 38 DKFP

So as you can see, Beasley ended up leading the game in actual scoring, which were pretty long odds on DKSB. D’Lo had an off game, shooting 8-21 from the floor, but was one of five T-Wolves players to go over 30 DKFP. The Pels were a bit more top heavy, getting most of their production from the Big 4. Zion just missed his point total O/U of 25.5 points. Jrue Holiday smashed value in DFS at $7,900 and was probably a top GPP play on the slate. If you decided to stack this game, mazel tov!
