The Brooklyn Nets brought in Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant this offseason in hopes of bringing a championship. Not to discount the two superstars but maybe the Nets had a star in the making right under their nose. Caris LeVert has been one of the best scorers in the NBA over the past month or so and he made a statement on Tuesday night.
LeVert dropped a career-high 51 points in Brooklyn’s upset win over the Celtics, 129-120, in Boston. He finished 17-26 from the floor, 5-10 from 3-point range and 12-18 from the line. In terms of DFS, he’s on track to be the top play on Tuesday’s eight-game slate with 66.5 DKFP. Even if someone eclipses him, at $7,200 that was HUGE value. LeVert also had four rebounds and five assists. It was his second game of over 60 fantasy points since the All-Star Break.
LeVert had scored fewer than 20 points in two straight games, so he was due. Spencer Dinwiddie has taken a backseat to LeVert while Kyrie is sidelined for the rest of the season. The Michigan product has a chance to lead the Nets into the postseason and maybe make some noise in the first round.
