The 2020 NFL Draft is next month, and DraftKings Sportsbook is taking bets on the order of the order of the first three picks. Joe Burrow seems like a lock to be selected first overall by the Cincinnati Bengals, but the second and third picks could end up a little murkier — especially if we see a trade. We break down what options you should consider putting your money on here.
Favorites
Joe Burrow, Chase Young, Jeffrey Okudah (+225)
The Bengals are shopping Andy Dalton, and Burrow just had one of the most impressive seasons we’ve ever seen from a college quarterback. Washington has two young quarterbacks but has a chance to get their hands on a prospect in Young with the best chance to become a star. The Detroit Lions had the worst pass defense in the NFL last season, and Okudah is the best cornerback in the 2020 draft class. These moves make the most sense for each team, but trades could come into the picture.
Joe Burrow, Chase Young, Tua Tagovailoa
It seems like Okudah will be the Lions’ pick, but the third overall selection is high for a cornerback. Other teams would love to swoop in to grab Tagovailoa in the top three, and the Los Angeles Chargers and Miami Dolphins are likely candidates to do so. Other top-notch prospects like Jalen Ramsey and Patrick Peterson were taken fifth overall, so Detroit should be fine moving back a few spots and acquiring more assets.
Sleepers
Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa, Jeffrey Okudah (+1100)
Tagovailoa is likely the second best quarterback prospect in the class. Washington could ignore the fact that it has youth in its quarterback room and draft Tagovailoa second overall. The Arizona Cardinals shipped off Josh Rosen to replace him for Kyler Murray, so there’s a chance a similar situation could happen. You also have to consider that teams like the Jacksonville Jaguars or Los Angeles Chargers could be willing to trade up for a chance to grab Tagovailoa. Both teams have top 10 picks and other assets they could offer Washington in exchange.
Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa, Jordan Love (+5000)
If Cincinnati keeps its pick while Washington and Detroit trade back, we could see three quarterbacks in a row taken in the first round. Love is the wild card of the draft and has been gaining traction as a potential third best quarterback in the class. He’s neck and neck with Justin Herbert, and if a team like the Chargers or Dolphins take a flier on him with Tagovailoa off the board, he could have his name called a lot earlier than most expected. It’s a long shout, but not outside the realm of possibility.
