The Raptors are heading to L.A. to take on Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers! Well at least in our DraftKings simulated basketball contest. DraftKings is offering another round of simulated basketball contests featuring a Showdown between the Raps and Clips this afternoon. Here’s a link to the contest and be sure to check out the rules before entering a lineup.

Captain’s Picks

There are actually a ton of viable options for Captain in this contest. There isn’t much separation between Kawhi Leonard ($18,000) and the rest of the pack in terms of box scores. Leonard is for sure the safest and easiest Captain pick, but I question if he’s the one you win this contest with. Pascal Siakam ($15,000) and Paul George ($14,100) offer some upside with a bit of salary relief. Kyle Lowry ($13,500) and Montrezl Harrell ($12,600) seem underpriced and on down the line you go. Since there are a lot of high-priced options, I like finding a cheaper Captain, perhaps Serge Ibaka ($9,000). He had to step up big with guys like Siakam and Marc Gasol out during parts of this season.

FLEX Options

Gasol ($3,600) has only played in 36 games this season, but has some high-upside box scores we can hit on at this price. He’d be more of a GPP option if we had more contests. I still like the idea of getting Reggie Jackson ($5,100) at a bit of a discount. He doesn’t have many games to choose from and if we hit on any of the Pistons box scores, we could strike gold. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson ($4,200), Chris Boucher ($3,000) and most of the Raptors bench mob has upside given the amount of injuries they had to endure before the break.
