Full list of Green Bay Packers 2020 NFL draft capital, needs, dream pick

The Green Bay Packers went 13-3 and won the NFC North without Aaron Rodgers playing at an MVP level. Despite not having the most impressive receiving corps, they were able to advance to the NFC title game.

Green Bay parted ways with tight end Jimmy Graham and should be looking to acquire better pass catchers ahead of the 2020 season. Replacing him and making upgrades elsewhere on the roster will be priorities for the team over the offseason.

Team needs

Offense

Rodgers needs more help, and the best place to give him that is at the wide receiver spot. Davante Adams had an impressive year, despite only playing in 12 games. But the Packers don’t have anything close to a WR2 on their roster. Jones’ versatility is useful, but he shouldn’t be Green Bay’s second leading receiver. The tight end spot could also use some improvement, as Graham didn’t live up to expectations as a playmaker during his time in Wisconsin.

Defense

Green Bay could benefit from building up depth among the inside linebackers. Blake Martinez is approaching free agency and is the best tackler on the team. He tallied a team-high 155 in 2019, so having some backup behind him would be beneficial considering the price he could fetch on the open market. Interior defensive linemen should be a priority for the same reason.

Dream first pick

Who better for the Cheeseheads than a Swiss army knife like Laviska Shenault? He’s one of the most versatile receivers in the 2020 draft class and could be selected toward the end of the first round after failing to live up to expectations at the combine. He can line up all over the field and has impressive size and strength. The addition of Shenault could give Green Bay one of the most physically imposing receiving corps in the league.
