Elijah Hughes declares for NBA Draft

Syracuse swingman Elijah Hughes has decided to test his chances at the next level and enter the 2020 NBA Draft.

Syracuse Orange swingman Elijah Hughes has decided to test the waters after his redshirt junior season and enter the NBA Draft.

Hughes averaged 19.0 points 4.9 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game for the Orange this season. He transferred from East Carolina after the 2016-17 season and sat a year in residence before starting all 66 games in his Syracuse career.

It’s another loss for a Syracuse team that struggled in a down ACC last year anyway. Despite the lack of depth in the conference, the best the notoriously-easy scheduling Orange could manage was an 18-14 record and a 10-10 mark in the ACC. And it might not get any better for Jim Boeheim anytime soon either, as they only have two players with letters of intent signed for next season, and currently are rated as having the 11th-best class in the 15-team ACC.

If you’re a fan of New York’s College Team, this might be a time to start worrying unless the transfer portal is hit early and often for the 2020-21 season. And in the wake of scandal five years ago, didn’t Jim Boeheim say he was going to retire anyway? And why did everyone forget about this exactly?
