The Tampa Bay Vipers picked up the first win in team history yesterday, a 25-0 win shellacking of the DC Defenders at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Though they did it without their most popular player, former South Florida quarterback Quinton Flowers.
Flowers had asked to leave the team earlier last week, with the player saying nothing and head coach Marc Trestman saying he was still a part of the team and away for personal reasons.
Though that was quite skeptically viewed by the media and public, it might have actually turned out to be true. Field Yates of ESPN is reporting that Flowers will return to the Vipers.
Some XFL news: Tampa Bay Vipers QB Quinton Flowers will be reporting back to the team after a brief absence for personal reasons, per source. Taylor Cornelius started in Flowers' place on Sunday.

But another report from Danny Jones of The Other League Pod, an XFL podcast, says that Dallas might be interested in trading for the dual threat QB/RB.
POTENTIAL TRADE ALERT

Don’t be shocked if, within the next 24 hours, Dallas makes a run for TB QB, Quinton Flowers. I’m hearing from Dallas that it is “more than a possibility”.
This would be huge for Flowers and the Renegades.
Could this be a case of the Vipers needing Flowers to report back to the team so he can be moved along? Starter Taylor Cornelius was very good for Tampa Bay yesterday, going 24/31 for 211 yards with one touchdown and one interception, while adding four carries for 36 yards and a rushing TD as well.
For his part, we haven’t heard anything from Flowers except for this cryptic tweet sent during the second half of yesterday’s Vipers victory.

The Snakes are now 1-3, but the big win yesterday showed the potential of the team that was a preseason favorite by the bettors to be XFL champions. The Vipers are currently 1.5 point underdogs at the LA Wildcats this Sunday.
