Week 4 of the XFL gave us a few players who were most efficient in terms of DraftKings DFS pricing. If you rostered these guys there’s a good shot you came out ahead in your DFS plays last week.
Nick Holley led the way, as he caught 8-of-11 targets for 97 yards and a touchdown for 23.7 DK points, the third highest total on the slate. But, at a cost of just 4500, he led the league with 5.27 DK points per $1k spent. Holley has been a “sleeper” player all season, as he’s been Top-2 in routes run for the high-powered Roughnecks, but now he’s finally broken out. His price will rise, but his usage should continue to have upside due to his presence on the field.
The next two best value plays are both D/STs, as the Vipers and Roughnecks took advantage of bad quarterback play from Cardale Jones and Landry Jones. D/STs have given DK players a lot of value this season due to some awful quarterbacking around the league, but getting those calls correct has been somewhat difficult.
The Vipers running backs both had big games on the ground, each topping 100 yards rushing in Week 4, but Jacques Patrick led the way in value, as he found the end zone and was $1,100 cheaper than De’Veon Smith. Smith had more total carries, yards and targets, finishing with 19.3 DK points to Patrick’s 19.8. Smith should continue to have slightly more upside, but these two are quite close in usage and with their prices going up this week, their value will fall, especially if they aren’t winning in a blowout in the second half.
Tre McBride, despite his $8,100 price tag, came in as the sixth top value play this week. Josh Johnson’s continued strong play coupled with the absence of Nelson Spruce helped McBride reach his upside again as he saw a full complement of snaps against the Guardians.
Taylor Cornelius came in as the top value quarterback, completing 24-of-32 passes for 211 yards, one touchdown and one interception, while adding four rushing attempts for 36 yard and another touchdown. The Vipers ran the ball at will against the Defenders, so Cornelius wasn’t asked to do much late in the game, but he played well and once again showed off his rushing ability with his second touchdown run. He’s needed those touchdowns to boost his stats in his two starts, but if he can keep adding rushing numbers, his floor is good.
