New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady announced on Tuesday that he will not be returning to the team in 2020. Brady posted to Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook thanking Bill Belichick, Robert Kraft, the entire organization, and the fans for everything they’ve done for him.
Brady has yet to sign with a new team, but this indicates his time in New England is complete. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been reportedly pushing hard for Brady, but the Los Angeles Chargers, Oakland Raiders, and Indianapolis Colts all make sense as a potential landing spot.
The Bucs, Chargers, and Colts offer considerable upside in terms of wide receivers. The Raiders offer an intriguing coaching mind in Jon Gruden, but the offensive talent level isn’t on par with those other three.
On the other hand, the Patriots now have to figure out their own quarterback situation. Their remaining quarterbacks are Jarrett Stidham and Cody Kessler, so they will likely either dive into free agency or make a move in the upcoming draft.
