Wednesday was a busy day with the NBA announcing a suspension of its season following Rudy Gobert testing positive for coronavirus, while the NCAA announced it would play its tournament with no fans in attendance. The XFL is now following the NCAA’s plan with regard to at least one game.
The league announced late Thursday that the Seattle Dragons Week 6 home game against the Los Angeles Wildcats will be played without fans in the venue. This comes after Washington Governor Jay Inslee issued an emergency proclamation prohibited events with more than 250 people in King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties.
The XFL has three other games this weekend in the Meadowlands in northern New Jersey, Tampa Bay, Washington, DC, and Seattle. Washington DC government has recommended large events not happen, but has yet to issue a formal order against such events.
The past 24 hours have shown how fluid this situation will be moving forward.
