Odds to win the SEC tournament

Kentucky comes into the SEC tournament as the favorite, just ahead of defending conference champion Auburn.

Oddsmakers think the SEC Tournament will be a four-team race before a drop off from the rest of the conference. The Kentucky Wildcats are the favorites to win the SEC Tournament as they look to win the conference after their four-year title streak was snapped last season.

One area I like to look at is record away from home, and Kentucky has by far the best road record in the SEC at 8-2. Knowing you can get it done outside your home arena is huge this time of year.

You know what’s also huge this time of year? Having your best players on the court. Kentucky guard Ashton Hagans did not make the trip to Florida on Saturday for the regular season finale for “personal reasons.” Kentucky doesn’t play until Friday, and it’s unclear whether he will play in the SEC Tournament, according to Kentucky.com.

The Auburn Tigers are the defending champs of this tournament and have the second best odds to win it. The LSU Tigers just jumped ahead of the Florida Gators for third best odds to win the SEC after Florida lost three of its last five games entering the tournament.

Kentucky, Auburn, LSU and Florida are locked in for NCAA Tournament spots with the Mississippi State Bulldogs on the bubble, playing for an at-large bid.
