Rich Eisen runs 5.98 40-yard dash in support of charity

The NFL Network host continues his annual tradition, but breaks six seconds for the first time in a few years.

NFL Network broadcaster Rich Eisen has done something pretty goofy at the NFL Combine every year: running the 40-yard dash the same way the players do, but in a full suit and tie. The same type he wears on air every week for both their studio shows and his popular podcast.

And this year he did it again, with a time of 5.98 seconds.

Eisen’s 5.98 matched his time from 2018, and was two-hundreths of a second faster than last year’s 6.00 flat.

For a 50-year-old man to break six seconds is pretty good. To do it in full office regalia is even better. Probably for the best he’s not wearing dress shoes however, as falling all over the FieldTurf at Lucas Oil Stadium wouldn’t be good for anyone.

The best part of this is the beneficiary is St. Jude Children’s hospital, who will receive $800,000 because of his efforts today.

Congrats to Rich, and good luck getting the time to keep going down as the age goes up!
