There’s a six-game NBA slate on DraftKings Sunday evening that locks at 6:00 p.m. ET. We’ll go over some top picks at each position to help you construct your lineup.
Point Guard
Ja Morant, MEM @ WAS, $6,300 — This Wizards-Grizzlies matchup currently has an OVER/UNDER of 240.5. Let that sink in for a second. The tempo in this game should be at ludicrous speed, so getting the most ludicrous playmaker in the contest makes sense. Morant has underwhelmed in fantasy lately, but has still posted decent box scores. In this matchup, his scoring ceiling is higher as well as his assist ceiling.
Other Options: Trae Young, ATL vs. NYK, $10,400; Mike Conley, UTA @ HOU, $5,400
Shooting Guard
Bradley Beal, WAS vs. MEM, $9,900 — We’re not gonna get cute here, just stack this game until your eyes bleed. Morant and Beal are the top two players in the game and luckily one is affordable. The other may be priced up, but it’s hard to ignore the type of game Beal could have tonight. Beal is averaging 36.7 points on 50.7% from the floor and 37% from 3-point range over the past nine games. The last time Beal faced the Grizz, he was cold and shot 8-23 from the floor — which didn’t get in the way of a 56.5 DKFP outing.
Other Options: CJ McCollum, POR vs. MIA, $6,600; Coby White, CHI @ PHI, $4,600
Small Forward
Paul George, LAC @ CLE, $8,100 — Kawhi Leonard is expected to sit tonight on the second of a back-to-back. So we can expect it to be the PG Show in Cleveland. George hasn’t been taking a lot of shots lately, but has shot at a high percentage, so the increase in attempts should boost his ceiling a bit. The Cavaliers rank 27th in opponent 3PT% at 37.4 and are dead last in opponent FG% at 49.1. PG-13 is a prime cash-game option given how low his salary is despite knowing Leonard would be sitting.
Other Options: Tobias Harris, PHI vs. CHI, $7,000; Robert Covington, HOU vs. UTA, $5,300
Power Forward
Carmelo Anthony, POR vs. MIA, $4,900 — This seems like a very advantageous price on Melo. The last time he was priced under $5K was his second game of the season with the Blazers. Now, the price is really low because the Heat are a tough defensive team and Melo has had two games of five or fewer points in the three. Depending on Jimmy Butler’s status for this game, Melo could be in a good spot. Butler would be able to contain Dame and/or CJ McCollum to an extent. That could mean the Blazers lean on Melo a bit more.
Other Options: John Collins, ATL vs. NYK, $8,700; Jaren Jackson Jr., MEM @ WAS, $5,800
Center
Joel Embiid, PHI vs. CHI, $8,200 — Embiid is expected to play tonight vs. the Bulls are leaving Friday’s game due to a neck injury. Prior to leaving Friday, he posted a double-double on 10 points and 10 boards in just 15 minutes. The Bulls are one of the worst rebounding teams in the NBA and are still missing two starters in Wendell Carter Jr. and Lauri Markkanen. Two weeks ago, Embiid’s price was hovering around $10K, so this is a major discount in a very good matchup at home.
Other Options: Rudy Gobert, UTA @ HOU, $8,000; Hassan Whiteside, POR vs. MIA, $7,600
