Saturday’s main NBA slate will consist of eight games on DraftKings. Some players could be making their debuts for new teams following the trade deadline, so a few starting lineups are in limbo. Injuries will also be a factor. But there will still be quality value plays you should look out for, and here are a few options you should consider.
NBA DFS value picks for Tuesday February 3rd
RJ Barrett, NY @ DET, $4,800
Jordan McLaughlin, LAC @ MIN, $4,200
Landry Shamet, LAC @ MIN, $4,400
— Barrett missed half of January dealing with an ankle injury but returned early this week to play 18 minutes off the bench. Now he’s expected to return to the starting lineup against a Detroit team playing without a starting point guard and starting shooting guard. If Barrett remains aggressive like he was in his February debut — where he scored 20.3 DKFP and shot nine free throws in 18 minutes — he should be able to use his physicality to thrive against the Pistons’ undermanned backcourt.
— D’Angelo Russell will soon be the Minnesota Timberwolves’ starting point guard, but whether he plays against the Clippers will be a game-time decision. McLaughlin had a solid showing against the Atlanta Hawks earlier this week, tallying 33.3 DKFP in 31 minutes. He’ll face a Los Angeles Clippers team that’s missing Patrick Beverley (groin), so McLaughlin has a good chance to produce at a high level. Even if Russell plays, he should get decent run as a backup.
— Shamet was relegated to the bench following Paul George’s return from injury, but Patrick Beverly’s groin injury could open the door for him to continue playing more minutes than usual. He exploded for 23 points in a win against the Miami Heat in his last outing and totaled 35.8 DKFP. It’s unclear whether he or Lou Williams will draw the start against the Timberwolves, but he should get plenty of chances to put shots up.
