This seems like it could be the end of the road for Isaiah Thomas. The Washington Wizards gave him a chance to start and play extended minutes, but he wasn’t able to make much of the opportunity. The biggest issue with Thomas is his defense. The Wizards were allowing 7.4 more points per 100 possessions with him on the court. When playing with the Boston Celtics he was a liability on defense although Thomas still managed to be a valuable player because he was elite on the offensive end, which he no longer is.
The Clippers will not be keeping Isaiah Thomas, acquired today from Washington in three-team deal with Knicks that brought Marcus Morris to LA and send Moe Harkless/picks to NYC, per league source.
