Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson ran away with the MVP in 2019 as the second winner to be named unanimously. Who will be next year’s Lamar Jackson? The MVP odds are out for the 2020 NFL season. Before you get to placing your wager, get a look at the entire odds list on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Below, you will find favorites, sleepers and darkhorses for the 2020 NFL MVP.
Patrick Mahomes (+400)
Mahones put together an incredible postseason to win Super Bowl 54 for the Kansas City Chiefs. You could probably say this most years about the Super Bowl winning quarterback, but if this was a season-long award, not just limited to the regular season, Mahomes likely would’ve been this season’s MVP. With his unique talent we may have never seen before at the quarterback position, Mahomes also has some of the best weapons to go to every play. He is currently listed as the favorite by DraftKings.
Russell Wilson (+500)
Wilson is about as consistent as it can get, so this is probably the safest bet among the potential NFL MVPs. He is durable and continues to prove he is among the best quarterbacks out there, especially late in games. It’s so difficult to ignore the Seattle Seahawks because Wilson always seems to have the ball in his hands for a game-winning drive week after week.
Aaron Rodgers (+1600)
Maybe one of the game’s biggest stars shouldn’t be looked at as a sleeper, but Aaron Rodgers has the sixth best odds to be NFL MVP next season. As a whole, 2019 was a major success for the Green Bay Packers, going 13-3 in Matt LaFleur’s first season. The Packers need some additional playmakers on offense, but Rodgers has decent value heading into 2020.
Saquon Barkley (+3300)
Yes, the MVP typically goes to the quarterbacks, but Saquon Barkley has the best odds among the non-quarterbacks, coming in at a tie for 10th overall. As a true workhorse running back, if the New York Giants can field a decent team next season, Barkley will likely be the best player on a major market team getting a lot of attention.
Baker Mayfield (+4000)
The Cleveland Browns were a complete mess in 2019, but they still do have plenty of playmakers for Mayfield to be successful. Maybe the new coaching staff will change some things for the better for a major comeback for the Browns. Is this likely to happen? Probably not, but that’s why he’s an MVP dark horse candidate for 2020.
Ben Roethlisberger (+6000)
Yes, this is not exactly a sexy pick as Roethlisberger plays out his the end of his career in the NFL, but he is tied for 20th in NFL MVP odds. I think that’s pretty good value for a guy who will be fresh, having sat out most of the 2019 season. Plus, most of the Steelers distractions are gone now. He has some decent options to go to, and you could find value in going with Roethlisberger at that price.
