Predicting what will happen with Jrue Holiday before the deadline

Coming into the season, the assumption was the New Orleans Pelicans would be a rebuilding team. After trading Anthony Davis in the offseason, it didn’t seem likely the Pels would be competitive despite landing Zion Williamson in the Draft. Now, they are within striking distance of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference and are setup extremely well for the future. Both Brandon Ingram and Zion not only look like future stars, but are All-Star level players now.

Will Jrue Holiday get traded before the deadline?

Teams are interested in Holiday and for good reason. Holiday is averaging 19.7 points, 6.3 assists per game and has made an All-Defensive Team in back-to-back seasons. He’s one of the best two-way guards in the league. The Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets are the team most commonly linked to Holiday and he would certainly be a great fit on their rosters. At this point, I am not sure it’s likely Holiday will be dealt to either of these teams. I think the Pels would be open to a deal, but they have to be blown away by an offer. For a deal to happen, the Heat would have to be willing to part with multiple draft picks or the Nuggets would have to put together a package built around Michael Porter Jr. Neither of this scenarios are impossible although I consider them unlikely.

Prediction: Probably will not be traded.
