The Sacramento Kings aren’t too far removed from the playoff picture and hav a difficult decision to make regarding the future of Bogdan Bogdanovic. The 27-year-old sharpshooter will be a restricted free agent next season, and his team has handcuffed itself by signing Harrison Barnes and Buddy Hield to sizable contracts. Sacramento might not have enough to pay Bogdanovic what he thinks he’s worth this summer, but does that mean it should ship him off and get some assets now.
Will Bogdan Bogdanovic get traded before the deadline?
Heavy hitters like the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers shown interest in acquiring the 6’6” wing’s long range shooting. But the Kings would likely require a future first-round pick or top-notch young prospect in return. Is he worth giving that up for half a year on a trial run? He might be. The Charlotte Hornets have also entered the fray, and they could give Bogdanovic the long-term starting role he desires. He won’t be content playing backup minutes, even if he has earned a temporary starting spot for now. Sacramento knows that.
Prediction: Will be traded.
