Michigan State Spartans head football coach Mark Dantonio has decided to step down from that role today. He will remain in East Lansing “in a role involving special projects” he announced today on Twitter below.
To all Spartans: Thank you for everything. You have truly helped my dreams come true. pic.twitter.com/uKkubvp1cW— Mark Dantonio (@DantonioMark) February 4, 2020
The timing coincides with more movement regarding the case of Curtis Blackwell suing Michigan State, also alleging NCAA violations during his five years with the Spartans. Blackwell was retained as the “Director of College Advancement” but now has made damming allegations in court. Dantonio’s attorneys are calling the lawsuit a “sham.”
We’ll have more on this story as it develops.
