The Zion Williamson tour is back in New Orleans with the reigning MVP coming to town. The Milwaukee Bucks are still the toast of the East at 42-7 and are road favorites heading into Tuesday night against the Pelicans. Williamson has played in six games since returning from injury and the Pels are an even .500 at 3-3. This is a surprisingly low spread for the Bucks, even on the road against a dangerous offensive team. DraftKings Sportsbook provided some splits on how the money is going tonight:
Bucks vs. Pelicans Betting Splits
Team | Odds | % Handle | % Bets |
---|---|---|---|
Team | Odds | % Handle | % Bets |
Bucks (-6.5) | -109 | 82% | 80% |
Pelicans (+6.5) | -110 | 18% | 20% |
O 245.5 | -113 | 38% | 33% |
U 245.5 | -108 | 62% | 67% |
Bucks | -265 | 84% | 81% |
Pelicans | 215 | 16% | 19% |
Despite the spread being relatively short for the Bucks, that’s where the majority of the money is going. The Bucks generally win games by double digits against inferior opponents this season and are still 19-4 on the road, so not much drop off there. Milwaukee is pretty much healthy in its core, so I’m not really sure why the spread is so short.
The O/U is extremely high at 245.5 but that’s a number that is very much attainable with these two teams on the court. Normally I’d preach that the Bucks defense is good enough to limit the Pels offense to under 120 points, but I think the pace of the game may force Milwaukee to ditch a more defensive approach. Still, it’s too high a number to risk at those odds. The UNDER is the much safer play and that’s reflected in the splits.
