Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard is riding a ridiculous hot streak, and his production has helped his MVP odds climb significantly in the last week. Even though his team is still outside of the playoff picture, Lillard is approaching the favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Lillard’s MVP odds clocked in at +2800 ahead of his teams first game of the season and dropped to +25000 by January 21st. But he has climbed back up the ranks in early February. His odds got back to +3300 by February 3rd thanks to numbers that are flat-out off the charts.
Lillard has averaged 41.6 points, 9.3 assists, and 5.4 rebounds over the course of his last 10 games while shooting 52.8% from the field. His team on a four-game winning streak and sits at ninth in the Western Conference standings. There’s no telling how long Lillard can keep this up, but it’s certainly one of the more impressive feats we’ve seen this season.
Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo (-230), Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (+450), Houston Rockets guard James Harden (+700), and the Los Angeles Lakers’ duo of LeBron James (+800) and Anthony Davis (+2500) round out the top five MVP candidates. Lillard is right behind that pack and sits in sixth place.
Here’s a table provided by DraftKings Sportsbook that outlines some of the NBA MVP race movement over the past few weeks:
