Giannis Antetokounmpo opted to draft Kemba Walker over James Harden in the 2020 All-Star Game draft. Giannis wanted someone who could pass. Harden did not take kindly to the comment. In an interview with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols, The Beard fire back at Giannis, stating:
Team Giannis ended up falling to Team LeBron in the ASG, but both Walker and Harden had solid games. While Harden is correct that Giannis is 7-foot and can “just dunk” like that. Come on, he’s the reigning MVP, he’s an all-world defensive player, it’s not just that Antetokounmpo is a freakish athlete. At the same time, Harden averages 7.3 assists per game this season and was the leader in assists in 2016-17. Both sides are kind of wrong in this situation. I’d also say it’s more playful trash talk among two superstars.
Mark down your calendars though. The Rockets take on the Bucks in Milwaukee on March 25 at 9:30 p.m. ET and the game is televised on ESPN (hmmmm). This will make for some pretty juicy narratives for that slate. March 25 can’t come soon enough.
