Todd McShay bets Mel Kiper Jordan Love will go ahead of Justin Herbert in 2020 NFL Draft

Justin Herbert has been viewed as the third quarterback expected to come off the board in the 2020 NFL Draft. Todd McShay thinks Jordan Love could go higher.

ESPN draft analysts Mel Kiper and Todd McShay have decided to put together a wager on the 2020 NFL Draft, with the winner sending $5,000 to The V Foundation.

This year’s wager will feature the draft position of quarterbacks Jordan Love and Justin Herbert. Herbert has consistently been discussed as the third quarterback off the board following Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa, but Love is getting some love of late. During QB workouts on Thursday, NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport said buzz was growing and Love could very well climb into the top ten.

We know LSU quarterback Joe Burrow is pretty much a lock to go No. 1 overall to the Cincinnati Bengals. Washington, Detroit, and the New York Giants are not expected to draft a quarterback, but then the Miami Dolphins at No. 5 and the Los Angeles Chargers at No. 6 are in need of help at the position. Free agency could change that, but that’s where things stand for now.

There is plenty of opportunity for teams to move up, with Detroit a seemingly strong candidate to move back in the draft. A lot of teams are looking for a long-term solution at the most important position on the field. Love could easily go in the top ten given how much teams value the QB position, but the question is whether he’ll impress enough to move past Herbert.
