Here are five players to consider at each position for Thursday’s four-game basketball slate on Draftkings:
Point Guard
Malcolm Brogdon, Indiana Pacers vs. Portland Trail Blazers ($7,300) — Brogdon may have broken out of a prolonged slump last game. He made 75% of his shots from the field after going six games in row making less than half his shots. This is good news for the Pacers since they are going to need their point guard to get back to his early season form. Jeremy Lamb is out for the season and Victor Oladipo is questionable, setting up Brogdon to potentially play a massive role on offensive.
Shooting Guard
CJ McCollum, Portland Trail Blazers at Indiana Pacers ($9,000) — Damian Lillard did not get hurt at the best time. There’s never a good time to get hurt, but down the stretch of the season with the Blazers fighting for a playoff spot is a tough pill to swallow. The good news for Portland, McCollum has stepped up without Dame. In the last three games without him, McCollum is averaging 60.58 DKFP on a 34.7% usage rating. Until Lillard is healthy, McCollum is going to have to shoulder the load on offense and play close to 40 minutes per game to keep the Blazers afloat.
Small Forward
Tobias Harris, Philadelphia 76ers vs. New York Knicks ($7,500) — The Sixers injury situation went from bad to worse last night. Ben Simmons was already out for an indefinite period of time and now Joel Embiid is also injured. He left last night’s game with a sprained shoulder and it’s unclear when he will be back on the court. Assuming he’s out tonight, Harris is going to have to do almost everything for Philly on offense. When the two All-Stars are off the court, Harris has a 26.6% usage rating and scores 42.77 DKFP per 36 minutes.
Power Forward
Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers at Golden State Warriors ($10,300) — The Lakers have ruled out LeBron James for tonight because of a groin injury. This likely isn’t anything to be concerned about and this is probably more related to rest than an actual injury. Even so, it’s a situation to take advantage of. With James off the court, AD’s usage swells to 34.2% and he scores 58.77 DKFP per 36 minutes.
Center
Al Horford, Philadelphia 76ers vs. New York Knicks ($5,200) — Just like Harris, Horford is going to have to step up for the Sixers with their two stars injured. Philly moved Horford back into the starting lineup when Simmons got hurt, which is great for his value. Coming off the bench, Horford struggled, averaging just 19.83 DKFP. As a starter he averages slightly over 30 DKFP. We can also anticipate extra playing time and usage due to the 76ers’ injury situation.
