UPDATE: Feb. 29, 1:40 p.m. — Curry is expected to miss the next three games for the Warriors and his return date remains unclear. It looks like next Thursday vs. the Raptors is the target for Curry to be back, but again, we thought it was going to be March 1 for a while now.
Steve Kerr ruled out Steph Curry’s availability for Tuesday’s game in Denver. Curry will be in Santa Cruz when the team leaves. He said Thursday’s matchup against Toronto is more likely. Warriors still gauging Curry’s progress.

UPDATE: Feb. 29, 12:39 p.m. — Curry will not return to the lineup this Sunday against the Wizards, per multiple reports. The Dubs are being more cautious with Steph’s return, which was expected to be March 1 for a while now. Instead, he’ll get in more practice despite looking pretty OK in videos that have surfaced.

This isn’t at all that surprising. This is the timeline we were given and this was the plan all along for Steph’s return to the lineup — March 1. Curry has missed the past four months due to a fractured hand and it’s essentially put the Warriors season into a free-fall. The Dubs aren’t nearly the same team, but they should be more competitive with Curry back and Andrew Wiggins in town.
Fantasy basketball and betting analysis: Stephen Curry’s return
With Steph back in the lineup, we should slowly see less of the younger guards like Jordan Poole, Damion Lee and Ky Bowman. Granted, Curry should be on a minutes restriction to start things off and I’d expect him to get fleshed out as the end of the season comes. I’d also expect Curry’s return to be more of a positive than a negative to Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green’s value overall — especially Dray. If you have guards like Bowman, Lee and Poole, it may be time to rethink things in season-long fantasy basketball.
As for the betting angle, the Warriors can’t hit their win total over set in the preseason of 47.5. At 12-45, we could see the Dubs finish the season strong, but it’s sort of a moot point right now.
