The New York Guardians dropped to 1-1 after putting on the worst performance we’ve seen from any XFL team this year in a 27-0 loss to the DC Defenders in Week 2. Now they’ll look to bounce back against the 1-1 St. Louis BattleHawks, who barely lost to the Houston Roughnecks in their last outing. Only one side can come out of this one with a winning record.

This matchup will be played Sunday at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri. The game will kickoff at 3:00 p.m. ET and be broadcast on ESPN. It will also be live streamed on the ESPN Sports App.

Guardians quarterback Matt McGloin was the talk of the town after his horrendous Week 2 showing. He was 8-of-14 for 44 yards with no scores and two interceptions. He also lost a fumble during the Guardians shutout loss in DC. The offense couldn’t get anything going and he was heard criticizing New York’s entire offensive system during the loss, calling for a complete reboot. He was decent in Week 1, where he totaled 182 passing yards with one touchdown pass and a rushing score, but he needs to prove he can cut it by bouncing back in a big way.

Jordan Ta’amu has been ridiculously accurate for the BattleHawks having completed 78.1% of his passes on the year. He’s also run for 109 yards and a score. The 22-year old developed chemistry with slot receiver De’Mornay Pierson-El and powered his team to to within four points of the Houston Roughnecks in Week 2. Although St. Louis fell short 28-24 in that contest, he notched a career high 284 yards through the air. His athleticism makes him a nightmare for any team to plan against.

St. Louis is a 10-point favorite for this game at DraftKings Sportsbook. The over/under for total points is 40, which is pretty low for XFL standards. Both teams are wild cards offensively when it comes to putting points on the board.
