The XFL is turning three weeks old this weekend and features a pair of games on Saturday and a pair on Sunday. America’s football addiction knows no bounds so if we’re going to watch already, why not try to make some money off it? Here is a list of players with the best value to give you a winning DFS strategy going into the weekend.
Jordan Ta’amu, St. Louis Battlehawks ($10,100)
Jordan Ta’amu is the fourth-most expensive quarterback on the board this weekend. After a pair of games, he is second in the XFL in fantasy points per game. Now he’s going against the No. 6 defense in the league against opposing quarterbacks, so expect him to put together a third consecutive solid fantasy performance against the New York Guardians.
Landry Jones, Dallas Renegades ($10,600)
Landry Jones played in his first XFL game in Week 2 after sitting out the opening weekend with a knee injury. He threw for 305 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. He will go up against the Seattle Dragons this weekend as the third-highest priced quarterback and brings a ton of value to a winning DFS team in Week 3.
Cameron Artis-Payne, Dallas Renegades ($8,300)
Cameron Artis-Payne is coming off a 14-carry, 99-yard performance this weekend and despite the high price tag as the second most expensive back, it’s probably worth it because he is the workhorse for the Renegades expecting a big workload going into Week 3.
Donnel Pumphrey, D.C. Defenders ($7,000)
Donnel Pumphrey is splitting work in the Defenders backfield this season, but the Defenders appear to be the top dog in the XFL so far and they’re going up against the Los Angeles Wildcats, which are giving up by far the most points through two weeks of the season. The Defenders come in as 8.5-point favorites, and we could see a blowout leading to plenty of carries in the Defenders backfield.
Jhurell Pressley, D.C. Defenders ($6,800)
Same reasons as above. Jhurell Pressley is going to share time with Donnel Pumphrey, but this is such a good matchup for the Defenders against a team that has been proven unable to stop anybody through two weeks. Take all the Defenders this weekend.
De’Mornay Pierson-El, St. Louis Battlehawks ($10,100)
I think we’ll see a big-time showing from the Battlehawks passing game, so you can feel free to stack De’Mornay Pierson-El with quarterback Jordan Ta’amu in your DFS lineup this weekend. The New York Guardians are the worst against opposing wide receivers this season, and Pierson-El comes in with the third-highest price among wideouts.
Rashad Ross, D.C. Defenders ($9,400)
Rashad Ross is going up against the No. 6 passing defense in the XFL this season, a team that gave up 62 points so far through two games. With Cardale Jones slinging it all over the yard, he’ll be looking to connect with Ross a few times on a deep ball.
Jordan Smallwood, Los Angeles Wildcats ($7,200)
If you’ve read any of the above information, I am expecting the Defenders to beat up on the Wildcats pretty good, which means Los Angeles will be throwing a lot. If you need a cheaper option, Jordan Smallwood could be the way to go with a low price tag at $7,000 for a guy who has red zone potential.
St. Louis Battlehawks ($3,700)
The St. Louis Battlehawks are going up against a New York Guardians offense that is a complete mess right now. At halftime of their last game, quarterback Matt McGloin said he wanted the entire gameplan changed at halftime. Instead, he was benched later in the blowout loss. Given the price tag as the fifth best value among defenses, the Battlehawks are steal.
