Top 3 XFL QB/WR stacks to consider for Week 3

We break down the best daily fantasy football QB/WR stacks for Week 3 of the XFL.

Week 3 of the XFL is here, and and some dynamic duos have begun to emerge. Our knowledge on who the most dangerous weapons in this new league are has continued to grow. Stacking quarterbacks and wide receivers can help maximize the potential of your DFS lineup. Here, we broke down the top three batteries you should continue stacking for Week 3 contests on DraftKings.

3) Cardale Jones ($10,800), Eli Rogers ($9,700), DC Defenders

Jones leads the league in passing yards with 511, but doesn’t seem to have a favorite wide receiver just yet. Rogers and Rashad Ross ($9,400) are both top five in receiving yards, but Ross has only hauled in six passes to Rogers’ 11. Rogers also has double the targets and seems to be the more versatile Defenders’ receiving corps so far. DeAndre Thompkins ($5,700) emerged as the team’s best receiver in Week 2, but he is likely to be a high-volume play. You can either try to match what everyone else will be doing, or consider a less used alternative.

The Los Angeles Wildcats are the second lowest rated defense in this weekend’s four-game slate, so I think one of the league’s best signal callers will find a way to carve them up. Rogers can do that in more ways than the other options.

2) Josh Johnson ($9,200)/Nelson Spruce ($10,900), Los Angeles Wildcats

Josh Johnson made his XFL debut in Week 2, and appears to have picked up right where his backups left off when it comes to wideout favoritism. Nelson Spruce remained the top dog last weekend after a strong Week 1 in which he totaled 11 receptions for 103 yards on 15 targets. Johnson threw for 196 yards and hurled Spruce two touchdown passes against the Dallas Renegades in Week 2. Spruce finished with 89 receiving yards on six receptions. He leads the XFL in receptions (17) and receiving yards (192). The only reason this pairing doesn’t top the list is because they’ll be up against a talented DC team that’s fielded one of the best defenses in the league so far.

1) P.J. Walker ($11,500)/Cam Phillips ($11,100), Houston Roughnecks

Walker has 449 passing yards, which is second to only Jones. However, he leads the XFL in passing touchdowns with seven. Four of those seven touchdowns passes were to Phillips, who leads the league in touchdown catches and ranks fourth in receiving yards (130). Walker has attempted more passes (70) than any other quarterback in the league and has the highest quarterback rating (107.4) as well. His volume and success so far merits going with a Walker-Phillips stack in Week 3. Phillips was held out of practice Tuesday with an ankle injury, but he was fine for all of Week 2’s game. I think he should be good to go, but we’ll adjust as needed. The Tampa Bay Vipers should have their hands full trying to contain these two.
