49ers safety Jimmie Ward got a big hit on Patrick Mahomes, but had to leave the field with an injury. He has since returned.

San Francisco 49ers free safety Jimmie Ward suffered an injury in the first quarter of Super Bowl 54 on a big hit of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs QB took off for the end zone but Ward got a big hit on him to force a fumble out of bounds.

Ward was slow getting up, but returned to the game after the commercial break.
