What Jeff Wilson and Tevin Coleman both being active means

We break down how you should handle the San Francisco 49ers’ running backs in Sunday’s DFS contests on DraftKings.

The 2020 Super Bowl kicks off in 90 minutes, and the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs have both announced their Super Bowl 54 inactives. The most notable news is that Tevin Coleman and Jeff Wilson are both active.

Coleman dislocated his shoulder in the NFC Championship Game and his status was not entirely clear coming out of the Super Bowl bye week. He sat all three days last week, and then was listed as limited on all three practice reports this week.

The 49ers removed him from the final injury report, but his playing time plan is still not entirely clear. He likely will play, but how many snaps will he play? Wilson being active suggests the 49ers are concerned about Coleman’s shoulder and figure he could aggravate the injury.

Wilson is a long shot DFS option, but he might be worth a start if you want to roll the dice on a touchdown option. If he gets work it will be primarily as a short yardage and goal line back. It’s a serious risk, but it’s interesting to say the least.
