We keep tabs on Deebo Samuel’s performance and prop bet progress during Super Bowl 54.

Super Bowl 54 fourth quarter recap

The 49ers’ offense stalled in the waning moments of the game and Samuel wasn’t to bust out of the big plays that helped San Francisco march down the field in the early parts of the game. He ended up with nine targets, but it was a pretty inefficient game for him through the air. Samuel only caught five of his nine targets.

The Chiefs don’t seem to have an answer for Samuel in the running game. He’s up to 53 rushing yards, a Super Bowl record for a wide receiver. Samuel is also up to five receptions, giving him the over on his receptions prop.

Samuel is having one of the better fantasy games at halftime. In addition to his 39 rushing yards in the first quarter, he piled up four catches for 23 yards. This put Samuel at 10.2 DKFP at the half.

The 49ers came out giving Samuel the ball in the backfield. He had the longest play of the qyarter, a 32-yard run, which setup the first score of the game. Samuel had one more carry and totaled 39 rushing yards. He easily hit his over 13.5 rushing yards prop.

Deebo Samuel has had a great rookie season as he has quickly became the 49ers No. 1 wide receiver target. Of course, the 49ers spread the ball around and are a run-first team but Samuel has been a huge part of their Super Bowl season.

In 15 games he caught 57-of-81 targets for 802 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing 14 times for 159 yards and three more touchdowns. Only fellow rookie A.J. Brown has more yards after the catch per reception than Samuel, who has 8.5 YAC per catch.

Samuel has the most targets, receptions and yards of any 49ers receiver in the playoffs this year and now that Jimmy Garoppolo should throw more than he has so far, Samuel’s number could get a bump, but will they be enough to hit the over on these prop bets? We shall see!
