Best Bets for February 17th NCAA Basketball

Last week we finished 13-3, and finished as the Baylor of college basketball handicappers. Let’s see if we can stay on the No. 1 line this week as well.

There’s only one way to keep a heater going in college basketball: bet more college basketball! We’ve got a pair of winners here (we hope), so let’s our dream season of wagering going.

Xavier -1.5 at St. John’s

X gonna give it to ya, because they have been a cover machine as of late: 4-0 ATS, including two on the road to teams that are better than the Johnnies. If you can get Seton Hall by 12 on the road, you can go across the river two weeks later and get a win while laying less than a bucket.

The Red Storm got a nice win over Providence on Wednesday, but the bigger trend is three failures to cover previous to that. Two teams trending in opposite directions, and upperclassmen Naji Marshall and Tyrique Jones play very well away from home for the Muskies.

Delaware State +8 vs. Bethune-Cookman

You might be asking “does this guy even know where Delaware State is?” Well smart aleck, it’s in Dover! I used to be a sports information director there many years ago, and their head coach Eric Skeeters is a former assistant at South Florida, the school I used to cover. So I keep a closer eye on the Hornets (3-21, 2-8 MEAC) than most schools, and this is a good spot for the home team.

DSU has lost their last two games at home by a combined four points, and B-CU is coming in after a loss to UMES on Saturday, their second-straight in the conference. B-CU might escape, but not by nine or more.
