The XFL is back for round two and the Dallas Renegades will take on the Los Angeles Wildcats in Sunday’s first game. Both teams will get a chance to make up for their underwhelming debuts. Only one side can avoid digging an 0-2 hold to start off the 2020 season.
This matchup will be the third of four games slotted to kick off this weekend. The game will begin at 3:00 p.m. ET at Dignity Health Sports Park. It can be watched on television on ABC and streamed on the ESPN Sports App.
The Renegades were favored to win the XFL championship in Week 1, lost to the St. Louis BattleHawks 15-9 in their season opener. But they didn’t have starting quarterback Landry Jones, who sat out because of a knee injury. Now Dallas should be able to be a little more ambitious on the offensive end with its preferred signal caller under center.
The Wildcats also dealt with some health issues at the quarterback position in last weekend’s 37-17 loss to the Houston Roughnecks. Josh Johnson wasn’t able to go in Week 1 because of a thigh injury and has been limited in practice this week. He’s still listed as questionable to play Sunday, and his backup Charles Kanoff can’t play because of shoulder and head injuries he suffered last week. Jalan McClendon could be poised to make his first start after being used sparingly in Week 1.
The Renegades are favored by four points on DraftKings Sportsbook and the total points is set at 47.5. Landry Jones coming back could be a major game changer for Dallas. The Wildcats’ quarterback room looks shaky though.
