Preseason odds for NFL teams is a good way to look back to see expectations for the season and start to understand where things went wrong or right. Below, we will take a look at DraftKings Sportsbook’s preseason odds for win totals, division titles, player props and more while we discuss what led to their triumphs or disappointments.

If you bet the Kansas City Chiefs in any positive way in 2019, you had yourself one heck of a NFL season in the gambling space. Kansas City went over the 10-win mark with relative ease at 12-4 and won the AFC West as fairly heavy favorites. The Chiefs made Kansas City Super Bowl bettors quite a bit of money, coming in at +750.
If you bet the Chiefs to win it all in 2019, you earned it with what Kansas City put you through during the playoff run. They found themselves down by double digits in all three of their playoff games including 24-0 early against the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round and 20-10 in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl 54 against the San Francisco 49ers. In the end, the quick-strike offense brought Kansas City back for a remarkable Super Bowl run.

Patrick Mahomes is a good example of how difficult it is to choose the NFL’s MVP. He came in among the favorites and had a fantastic season, but it still wasn’t enough as Lamar Jackson became the second player ever to be named MVP unanimously. Mahomes fell way short of over/unders in passing yards (4,031) and passing touchdowns (26). Let’s assume a Super Bowl MVP will help ease his mind in the offseason.
Damien Williams sat out five games this season with an injury, so he fell well short of his rushing yards total (498) and was 2.5 rushing touchdowns shy of reaching that total.
Travis Kelce caught 97 passes for 1,229 yards to beat out the receiving yards total, and Tyreek Hill finished nowhere close to the receiving yards total with 860 yards, only playing in 12 games due to a Week 1 clavicle injury.
