We love this sport as much as you do. College basketball brings excitement, drama, and passion every night of the week. It’s just that some nights, the excitement can be a bit harder to find. And this Valentine’s Day might be one of those nights.
Clearly the schedule-makers wanted you to spend time with your significant other on this day of love, because this slate tonight has more ranking numbers in the 200’s and higher than East Coast area codes.
Davidson plays St. Bonaventure in a battle of teams fighting to work their way into the Atlantic-10 race. It would be a nice Q2 win for Davidson, but they’re probably going to need to run out to even have a chance at an at-large bid. And that involves knocking off Top 10 Dayton. But yeah, Davidson. Steph Curry used to play there!
Also Akron. Akron! They can score a bit! They’re 18-5 & 9-3 in the MAC, but with no wins in Q1. Loren Cristian Jackson is one of the more efficient scorers in college basketball at a generously-listed 5’8, and they’ll take on the Chippewas of Central Michigan today.
