UPDATE: So the All-Star Game is in just a few hours and there shouldn’t be much movement on the MVP odds on DraftKings Sportsbook. I mentioned Luka Doncic as my favorite back when he was +3000 and that hasn’t changed, especially considering he’s now +1200 to win MVP. The line was always so arbitrary. I would lean LeBron > Giannis if I were picking between favorites, though. I think with the Kobe narrative in play and the fact Team LeBron will most likely win, it’s more than likely James wins the inaugural Kobe Bryant All-Star Game MVP award. My darkhorse would probably be either Ben Simmons or Devin Booker both at +3000.
The NBA All-Star Game is set for Sunday night in Chicago. The star-studded event has a few changes this year, but there’s one constant: Most Valuable Player. DraftKings Sportsbook has lines for most of the events up now, but we’ll be going over the favorites to take home All-Star Game MVP. Here’s the complete list.
NBA All-Star Game MVP Odds
Player | Team | Odds |
---|---|---|
Player | Team | Odds |
Giannis Antetokounmpo | Bucks | +400 |
LeBron James | Lakers | +450 |
Anthony Davis | Lakers | +650 |
Russell Westbrook | Rockets | +1000 |
Luka Doncic | Mavericks | +1200 |
Joel Embiid | Sixers | +1400 |
James Harden | Rockets | +1400 |
Kawhi Leonard | Clippers | +2000 |
Pascal Siakam | Raptors | +2000 |
Kyle Lowry | Raptors | +2500 |
Khris Middleton | Bucks | +2500 |
Donovan Mitchell | Jazz | +2500 |
Kemba Walker | Celtics | +2500 |
Trae Young | Hawks | +2500 |
Ben Simmons | 76ers | +3000 |
Devin Booker | Suns | +3000 |
Jimmy Butler | Heat | +5000 |
Nikola Jokic | Nuggets | +5000 |
Jayson Tatum | Celtics | +5000 |
Brandon Ingram | Pelicans | +6600 |
Chris Paul | Thunder | +6600 |
Rudy Gobert | Jazz | +10000 |
Domantas Sabonis | Pacers | +10000 |
Bam Adebayo | Heat | +10000 |
So the two team captains: Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James are 1-2 in terms of MVP favorites. I’m a bit surprised that Giannis is ahead of LeBron. There’s an ode to Kobe Bryant in the new rules and I think with that narrative, we could see a very emotional James in this game. James has won the award before — in 2018, 2008 and 2006. Though, I think it has more to do with his team being absolutely stacked.
I think Kemba Walker is a bit overvalued at +1200, which is the fifth best odds to win MVP. Russell Westbrook stands out as the best value at +1000. He’s won the award twice in his career, both times before the format change. Of course, that was when he was on the Thunder and the Western Conference All-Stars were still very much stacked.
If I’m digging deep into the darkhorse bets, Luka Doncic, Trae Young and Chris Paul make sense. Young and Doncic are two of the most exciting young players in the NBA and could put on a show. CP3 has won ASG MVP before in his career and has the fourth-lowest odds to win at +6600. You’d think Paul would get a bit more respect in that regard.
