The XFL is back for Week 2! It’s in good shape to make it through year one, but given what we saw of the AAF last year, these little victories are important. The XFL put together a solid first week of action. The football was a mixed bag, but there was enough decent football that it offers some optimism and momentum heading into Week 2.
In a bit of coincidental scheduling, the four Week 1 winners face off in Week 2. The DC Defenders host the New York Guardians and the Houston Roughnecks host the St. Louis Battlehawks. The Guardians and Battlehawks were underdogs in their Week 1 contests but pulled out wins, while the Defenders and Roughnecks won going away as favorites.
The XFL will once again be featuring four nationally televised games, with three of them on three broadcast stations. The weekend opens with the DC hosting New York at 2:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, airing on ABC. Tampa Bay hosts Seattle at 5:00 p.m. that evening on FOX. On Sunday, ABC will air Dallas vs. Los Angeles at 3:00 p.m., and FS1 will air St. Louis vs. Houston at 6:00 p.m.
The league is leaning heavily into the gambling space, and has announced DraftKings SportsBook as a sports betting partner. DK is also a daily fantasy football partner with the league, so we’ll be providing updates through the weekend to get you ready for Week 2 XFL action.
